Design
I designed my first page in the eighth grade for our 20-21 yearbook and my growth in designing since then is exponential. From understanding concepts like trap text and balanced white space, you can see how my design from my first few publications has grown since. Aside from yearbook pages, I also help to design graphics for our social media pages as well as weekly newsletters, and announcement posters around our school.
Divider

This page was a divider introducing the Activities section in our 2023-2024 yearbook. It features a picture of students partaking in the three legged race as part of field day.
Activity
This page from our 2023-24 yearbook publication features our class of 2024 graduation. The class graduating was unique because many of the students had attended the school for many years. We featured that on this page. Beloved former staff members also came to speak at the graduation.

Sports

This page from our 2023-24 yearbook features the 2024 track season. We were able to feature the banana relay, a special type of relay where instead of a metal baton being passed on, a banana was passed instead. Another unique thing about our track teams is that the junior high and high school practice together and even compete at one meet together. This made it easier to combine the two teams into one page.
Growth...

In eighth grade, I designed my first yearbook page. Side by side, you can see how I have improved year to year. I have come to better understand white space and spacing concepts in general. I also have a better understanding in photo selection. My side graphic designs and features have also improved throughout my yearbook and journalism career.
